Shakespeare Royal Oak Announces Cast & Schedule for Macbeth

ROYAL OAK, MI (July 2, 2025) Shakespeare Royal Oak has announced the casting for its production of Macbethplaying in Royal Oak's Starr Jaycee Park July 24 - August 3.

For its vanguard 25th Season, Shakespeare Royal Oak will present a devilishly original streampunk-style Macbeth from visionary Detroit director Jeffrey Michael Nahanwith all the spirited spells, plots, and revenge the Bard could conjure up in the middle of Starr Jaycee Park. Steampunk Macbeth will fill your eyes and mind with its unique style, music, and moves to keep you guessing until you cheer its glorious end! The cast of  Macbeth includes:

Macbeth will appear in Royal Oak's Starr Jaycee Park, 1301 W 13 Mile Road, July 24 - August 3 with performance times on Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. Tickets ($35) are on sale now at ShakespeareRoyalOak.com.

In addition to its production of Macbeth, Shakespeare Royal Oak is proud to offer two educational opportunities for students entering grades 1-12 during its 25th annual festival.

    SRO Teen Ensemble

    During the two-week SRO Teen Ensemble program, high school students delve into character development, explore safe stage combat and sword fighting techniques, prepare costume designs, and learn all aspects of presenting a Shakespearean production. This summer, participants will be staging their own production of
    A Midsummer Night's DreamJuly 15-26, with three public performances on the Starr Jaycee Park stage at 7:00 p.m. July 27, 28, and 29. While acting roles in the production have been cast, registration is still open for students to attend in technical (non-actor) roles with theatrical technical training in stage management, sound design, dramaturgy, and choreography. Tuition is $360 per student with registration available online at ShakespeareRoyalOak.com/education.

    KidsAct!

    For students entering grades 1-8, Shakespeare Royal Oak is proud to offer KidsAct!  July 28 - August 1, with a public performance on Saturday, August 2 at 11 a.m. During this six-day program, students get the absolute joy of learning Shakespeare soliloquies, safe sword fighting, and stage combat, as well as improv skills and movement from area theatre professionals. KidsAct!tuition is $260 per student with registration available now online at ShakespeareRoyalOak.com/education.
